Who we are
ICAK-Canada is a member-run organization, one of 15 global chapters of the International College of Applied Kinesiology. Our website address is: http://www.icakcanada.ca.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Personal information is collected through forms on the website for Memberships and Subscriptions (paying for Memberships). This information is used to ensure that practitioners are qualified and eligible for Memberships. Names, email addresses and physical address information are stored in the User database. Names and email addresses are stored also with an email service for newsletters. Members can log in to their account and update their information or delete their account. Passwords are private and can only be accessed by Members. IP addresses are stored for security purposes.
Payments are processed through PayPal; only the amount paid and the date and time of the transaction are held on the website, for the purpose of managing the membership list, discounts for events and allowing access to members-only content or creating or managing a directory listing.
All information that practitioners share for their directory listings is stored in the database of the website.
Email signup information for the newsletter includes name, email and date, which are stored in the database for the website and with a third party email service. A third party email service is used to manage email campaigns and newsletters communicating with members and those who have signed up. Some engagement data is stored, including whether campaigns have been viewed or not; helping in continual improvement in our communications.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
For returning visitors who use the website, cookies might be used to help guide the navigation. When Users (Members) visit the website, cookies help them log in easier.
Users who upload images to the website should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Downloadable content does not contain any tracking code.
When visitors use forms, such as the contact form, third party plugins help spam detection.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We share anonymous visitor data with Google, to monitor engagement for the website. Data will track the place, time and duration of website visits, so that we can improve our content.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you create content on the website (ie the directory), it and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that your online experience is better.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Your contact information
User contact information is stored as long as users are members, or for a period of four years after a membership ends.
How we protect your data
Your data is encrypted and stored securely on Canadian servers, in Montreal, Quebec.
