Welcome to the Canadian chapter of the International College of Applied Kinesiology, home to members certified in Applied Kinesiology (AK), a valuable diagnostic method used by licensed healthcare professionals. In Canada, most Applied Kinesiology practitioners are chiropractors, osteopaths and naturopathic doctors, depending on which province the practitioner is in. Only healthcare practitioners who are regulated by licensing bodies can be certified to include Applied Kinesiology in their patient care.
Applied Kinesiology is a safe and non-invasive diagnostic system using muscle testing as a tool for evaluating neurological function. The methodology focuses primarily on neuromuscular function as it relates to the structural, chemical and neurological regulatory systems in the body. Muscle testing assesses the impact of the nervous system on patient health, helping AK practitioners look for the source of disease in the balance of the sensory system with the motor system.
Studying or practicing Applied Kinesiology is restricted to healthcare professionals who are licensed to diagnose (MD, DC, DO, ND, DMD – depending on provincial regulatory bodies).
